Jelske passed away on 17 December 2025. We took her to the vet because she wasn’t eating properly and thought she would be given an injection for nausea. Tests showed that her red blood cells were being rapidly destroyed. She was then admitted to Visdonk animal hospital, where she underwent various tests and stayed for two days. On Saturday evening, we had to rush her to the Evidensia hospital in Waalwijk, where she received a blood transfusion. We thought she was on the road to recovery, but that turned out not to be the case. By Wednesday, there was nothing left of Jelske; she couldn’t keep anything down and was literally bleeding to death.
To spare her further suffering, we let her go.
The cause is unknown: infectious, tumours? They don’t know.
The sadness and loss are enormous!
