Fien has become a mother again!
On August 30th, Fien gave birth to her second — and final — litter. Six beautiful, solid black puppies were born: 3 boys and 3 girls.
Unfortunately, one of the boys was very small at birth and didn’t make it. It remains heartbreaking, but that is part of nature.
Fortunately, the remaining 5 puppies are doing wonderfully! Fien is a fantastic mother and is lovingly caring for her 3 daughters and 2 sons.
The names and their meanings
For the boys, we chose distinct Dutch names with Frisian roots. For the girls, we opted for short, strong names. Each name carries a special meaning:
The boys:
Olle: Heir or Descendant (a Frisian short form of Olaf)
Imme: Great, Whole, or Universal (a classic Frisian name)
The girls:
Moa: Mother (from the Swedish moder) or Peace/Harmony
Xena: Hospitable or Strong warrior (from the Greek Xenia)
Nim: Nymph/Nature spirit (referring to mythic forest spirits) or Princess
